You get a one star review because I got your junk mail in my postbox
I was in aldi on 8/1 at around10am and my samsung pay wasnt working there, unfortunately i didnt have any other ways to pay for my shopping. The staff at aldi were so kind in helping me try different ways to pay. After 20mins I was able to pay my shopping. Special thanks to the very patient south asian man who managed to help me whilst still allowing people to pass through.
I must say that, in comparison with Aldi Rhodes, this Aldi Ryde has a fantastic customer service. Plus they have a self check out, so it feels less than in a rush.
Management here is very friendly. Therefore they have won the 5 stars :) my review.
Came on 07/11/23 at 8:30pm in case management gets a compliment.
Fantastic that they close at 9:00pm - others close at 8:00pm in a rush.
(Sorry Aldi rhodes, you kept being in the lower spectrum of the reviews) still you can improve)
What time do you start hiding your baskets? The last couple of times I’ve shopped at this location, (usually after 5pm) All of the baskets in the store are mysteriously missing. Every single one. Seems like an odd gripe, I know but when you’re disabled or otherwise unable to use a trolley - it becomes quite hard to juggle all of the groceries you’re trying to buy. I would have asked a staff member but they were scarce also. Baskets, please release them.
To a young Asian man at self serve I said "can I put this $80 shop through as a split transaction as I have 3 $30 gift cards or do I have to do multiple transactions?" He says "no gift cards don't work." Me: "they do I just tested it for $1 check this receipt." He says: "I'll open a register it'll be easier." I go to the register and still he stands at self serve for 10min. Me with half items loaded waiting for him: "you're either on register or at self serve you told me to go over here you can't do both at once." Him: "I'm not coming over there until you've loaded every single item onto the belt." I say "Why would I load every item if you're not going to come over from self serve I'll have to take them all off and go back over." as clearly loading them all if he's not coming over after all is a waste of time. Maybe there is a reason so I load every last item and then he finally decides to come over. He scans every single item and charges me $80. I say: "The gift cards are $30 each they won't work for $80, it's like you didn't listen to a word I said." Then he says "keep going I'll refuse you service." I say "that would be good as I would have been better off doing this myself at self serve." So he had to cancel the whole thing and rescan everything in $30 lots. All he had to do was say at self serve when I originally asked was put it through as multiple transactions which I could have done myself instead he wasted my time. How do you work in a grocery store and not know the difference between a split payment method and multiple transactions? I wouldn't care about waiting but I have my little kids there about to raise hell and climb on the belt etc, toddlers can't wait 20min for you decide to come over.
It's an OK Aldi. Nothing terribly special. I've found they have been out of stock on items more than some other Aldis in the area. What I do love is that they are open until 9pm weeknights whereas my local is only open to 8pm.
This review is mainly for their billing system. They wait for around 10 members to queue up at one counter before considering to open another. There is hardly any room for people to move around when so many are waiting in queue. Otherwise a good store with good staff.
ALDI Rydalmere. Larger than most ALDI stores, so a bigger selection.
Never have stock. Why are the shelves all empty at 9am on a Saturday morning? No stock?
I asked the Manager why's there no stock and he just looked at me in a daze asking where? NFI.
The one in Gladesville is much better.
